Pygar61 As well as essential summer chillout tracks, each vocal deserves to be a successful single. Lucky Sun’s latest ‘interlude’ (Morning View) could easily be used in a movie. Favorite track: Rain & Sunshine (feat. Alison David).

Verse 1: Sometimes It seems that All of my dreams Are nothing but Castles built on sand The tide comes each day And washes away The hopes that I held Right here in my hands But when I look at the stars at night (Stars at night) That's when I know that I'll be alright (Be alright) We're just a part of a Universe That's been around so long (Ah ah ah ah) So when it turns out your fortunes turn (Fortunes turn) Just overstand it's a chance to learn (Chance to learn) Appreciate it's an opportunity To make yourself strong Sometimes... CHORUS: Just make it to the sunrise (2x) It's a brand new day You can find a way To shine Just make it to the sunrise (2x) Let your fantasies Get a chance to breathe In life Verse 2: Seems like At times that This life's a crime And It's so unfair And nothing is sure But if you Unearth What living is worth That's when you Find that you Can endure But when I look at the stars at night (Stars at night) That's when I know that I'll be alright (Be alright) We're just a part of a Universe That's been around so long So when it turns out your fortunes turn (Fortunes turn) Just overstand it's a chance to learn (Chance to learn) Appreciate it's an opportunity To make yourself strong ...CHORUS... ...Ad-Libs...

Rain and Sunshine It’s doom and gloom sometimes with you And god I wanna see it though But boy you take me real low I start to question how far we can go I know there’s got to be a way But sometimes the sky is so grey So how can I find the truth And find my way back to you Winter spring summer fall Somehow I must face it all Not wish my life away Because I can’t face the misery I feel today Can’t delete, escape this ride Gotta get through to the other side Take the rough with the smooth Oh and get into get into my groove. Drip drop drip drop drip (ah yeh de de de de de de) Rain on my window pane (the rain is falling down) Can I see through it (oh will it ever stop?) Feel the sunshine again (I wanna let it stop) Drip drop drip drop drip (I gotta see it through, gotta see it through) Rain on my window pane (I gotta find my way through) Can I see through it (ah, I’m passing through the clouds) Into the sun, into the sun, into the sunshine Hibernate, freeze or die Can I make it through to the other side Shelter from the sun or rain Get burnt, get wet, then start again As the seasons come and go We gotta dance in the rain, play in the snow There ain’t no stopping The wheels keep on turning So we just got to change our minds and Keep learning yeahh Drip drop drip drop drip (will it ever stop?) Rain on my window pane (waiting for the rain to stop) Can I see through it? Feel the sunshine again (I know it will) Drip drop drip drop drip (skat) Rain on my window pane Can I see through it? Into the sun, into the sun, into the sunshine (into the sunshine yeah) Drip drop drip drop drip (I feel the rain falling down on me) Rain on my window pane (I’m not gonna let it get me down) Can I see through it? Feel the sunshine again (Cos I know it won’t last, it won’t stay) Drip drop drip drop drip (I know there’s another way to see) Rain on my window pane (the rain falling down on me) Can I see through it! Into the sun, into the sun, into the sunshine Woo I know there’s got to be a way Another way to see Oh, this rain that’s falling down on me I need to grow just like the trees and plants Ah wooohhhoo Nothing lasts forever Nothing lasts forever now Let it soak me, let it wash me clean, oh yea Take it down to my roots Let it rain on me Gotta pass my way through the clouds Let it fertilise the ground Ah aaah Lyrics written by Alison David

about

‘Balance' is the 2nd studio album from UK producer Lucky Sun (aka Tom Lown), featuring collaborations with notable vocalists Alison David (Red Snapper/The Black Science Orchestra/Bugz In The Attic) and Frank H Carter III (YSE/Ivy Lab/Llorca).

The album kicks off with the summery vibe of Deep Love. It grooves from the start, sounding like a cross between Lovebirds and Crazy P, and opens up into a deep house masterpiece with soulful and Balearic leanings. Alison David pours her positivity into the track with her unique fusion of spoken word and singing. Her lush vocals compliment the song’s gently drifting strings and catchy synth lines, creating the cosiest of ear-worms.

Title track Balance is a deep electronic affair with low slung, syncopated house beats, arpeggiated synths and lush chords which acts as a perfect segue into the following track Sunrise, featuring a soulful and stunning vocal performance by Frank H Carter III. This punchy deep house tune transmits enough positivity, warmth, and - yes - sunlight to melt through the coldest winter’s day.

Calling You In summons a deep and mysterious vibe, with broken, breaksy beats and soaring chords over which Alison David’s vocal performance and other-worldly harmonies take the track to an ethereal place.

Vocobolo Resano is a region in Italy where a beautiful outdoor pool sits. This track features field recordings (laughter and splashes from friends and family) in its lush breakdown. Fittingly enough, this cut employs slower house beats; 110bpm terrace groover perfect for poolside lounging.

Rain and Sunshine is the album’s 3rd track featuring Alison David, and already a staple on Ibiza, with a remix of the song appearing on Nassau Beach Club’s 2021 compilation. Alison delivers another memorable performance, locking in with the bass in the chorus to create a catchy, positive, uplifting feel.

Downtempo, lounge vibes feature on BKLN, with smooth percussive beats accompanying Rhodes chords, synths and lush subtle sound design. Return to Olive Street, named after Tom’s first address in Brooklyn, is a uniquely charming track, with minimal percussive beats accompanying thoughtful strings and synths.

The album closes with the beautiful Sunset, a mid-tempo deep house chugger, featuring spine tingling muted trumpet licks by Porgie. This is surely one for beach bars the world over.

Balance is all about life - balancing the rough with the smooth, the yin and the yang… It’s a timeless listening album which can beautifully soundtrack any moment of daydreaming, be it on the dance-floor, on the road or in the living room.
